Pretty Pillows...

Mum had some gorgeous pillows made up from beautiful turkish ikat fabric which she bought while in Turkey 2010. I really love the lime/yellow fabric on the back it compliments the blue tones on the front fabric, great throw pillows for the beach house, or to brighten up a bedroom that lacks colour. I hope to take some photos this week of some throw pillows I had made up in Legian, Bali. I managed to find some bright and colourful Bali Batik fabric from Ubud, unfortunately my favourite fabric roll was not returned from the pillow makers and I didn't realise until I was back in Sydney. Sure enough the business where my pillows were made chose not to reply to any of my emails notifying them of my missing fabric, very annoying!! Oh well lesson learned.

Enjoy your Sunday evening...x

Elizabeth Taylor R.I.P (1932-2011)

Beautiful actress Dame Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor has passed away at the age of 79 due to heart failure. She was considered one of the great actresses of the golden age in Hollywood, next to Grace Kelly and Sophia Loren. I have posted some timeless art pieces and photos of the star to remember her talent and beauty.

SoHoStyle LOVE's Diane Bergeron...

Both magazine images are from the new February 2011 edition of Germany's Architectural Digest, featuring Diane Bergeron's beautifully decorated home. Both images collaborate my favourite colours for the moment, pink, orange and yellow! I love the black ikat bowls contrasting against the white tiles and the subtle splash of yellow on the hanging mugs.

For more Diane Bergeron inspiration check out her blog The DB Files. Ivy & Piper have also just released their latest online magazine featuring an interview and sneak peak inside Diane Bergeron's Melbourne studio, this can be found at the the Ivy & Piper website.

Knitted homewares...

I am excited about Winter and the idea of cuddling up inside with some warm home furnishing. This amazing Flocks knitted rug designed by Christien Meindertsma. She also designed some colourful knitted urchin poufs, check out her website for some other funky designs.

Forget tea-cosies, check out these cute knitted pencil jar covers/vases. You can pick up one of these from Ferm Living Australia for $58. The Danish Ferm Living online store also do some great knitted poufs similar to Flocks' urchin poufs, but are much cheaper, however don't seem to be in stock on their Australian online store.

CB2 have designed some warm and wintery monochromatic grey crochet cushion to cuddle up to with a cup of hot milo, check out their website.

White bamboo arm chair (we're in love)...

Mum's new white bamboo arm chair, it's fresh and light and is a perfect addition to any living room or corner chair for your bedroom. Team with a gorgeous cushion, a bright ikat or a neutral print will do the trick!

Also loving the black and white rug in the background, it really pops!

Illustrations I love...

Mackerel (above) and St Pauls (below) illustration by Kerry Lemon, follow her blog.

I am obsessed with UK illustrator Kerry Lemon, the illustrations are simple and delicate. Check out the website, the architecture illustration 'St Pauls' (below) is my favourite, it would look great in an IKEA white frame for around the house.

Vietnam wonders

A rusted military tower on top of a mountain on one of the thousands of islands in Harlong Bay, Vietnam.

A small village, not afraid of using my favourite colour.

Beautiful Things...

I have just returned to Sydney from a two month trip in South East Asia. While walking the old town streets of Hanoi in Vietnam I took a few snaps of some wonderful things.
